A time series is a sequence of individual data values that are ordered in time to record the changing trend of a certain phenomenon. Click here to browse an example of a Time Series resource. Creating a Time Series resource is similar to creating any other type of resource in HydroShare. To learn how to create a resource in HydroShare click here.
HydroShare has three resource types that can handle time series data:
- Time Series Resource: A type of HydroShare resource that stores one or more Time Series datasets and their metadata descriptions.
- Referenced Time Series Resource: A type of HydroShare resource that stores only metadata for a Time Series that is hosted on a HydroServer and published using the CUAHSI HIS.
- Generic Resource: Generic resource types can handle any file type but will not automatically populate metadata on the resource landing page.
This page describes the Time Series resource. To learn more about HIS Referenced Time Series, click here (https://help.hydroshare.org/hydroshare-resource-types/his-referenced-time-series/).
To define the entities and attributes of a time series dataset, we adopted the definition of a time series as specified by Version 2.0 of the CUAHSI Observations Data Model (ODM2) – see description of a time series result in ODM2 here.
